What not to share

Situation

The situation

The data to keep to yourself, and how to ask without it.

You keep the books for a small plumbing business. A customer has not paid their invoice and you want the AI to draft a reminder.

Idea 1 of 3

What must not leave

Do not paste into an AI your customers’ names and contact details, account numbers, health data, passwords or confidential documents.

Idea 2 of 3

Some services learn from your messages

Some free services may reuse what you write to train their models. On aidock, every model shows whether it can.

Idea 3 of 3

Replace, then ask

Replace the data with markers such as [CUSTOMER] or [AMOUNT]. The AI drafts the message, then you put the real values back yourself.

Example

Before and after

Avoid

Send a reminder to Jean Durand, +33 6 12 34 56 78, about his €1,250 invoice.

Better

Write a polite reminder to [CUSTOMER], whose invoice [INVOICE NO.] for [AMOUNT] has been unpaid for 30 days. Offer to split the payment in two.

Why? The second request gets the same message without revealing anything. You replace the markers yourself at the end.
