Your first request

Situation

The situation

Say clearly what you want, as you would to a colleague.

You work at an estate agency in Reims. A buyer is viewing a flat on Thursday at 6 pm and you want to send them a confirmation.

Idea 1 of 3

Talk as you would to a colleague

AI understands everyday language. What you write to it is called a request, or a prompt. No technical words needed: say what you want, who it is for and why. Casual or formal, as you prefer: it does not make the answer more accurate.

Idea 2 of 3

One request, three building blocks

A good request states the task (write an email), the recipient (a buyer) and the key information (Thursday’s viewing at 6 pm).

Idea 3 of 3

Short but complete

Two or three sentences are enough. Whatever you leave out, the AI guesses, and it often guesses wrong.

Example

Before and after

Avoid

Write an email.

Better

Write a short, polite email confirming a buyer’s flat viewing on Thursday at 6 pm. Leave a space for the address and offer to call them if they cannot make it.

Why? The second request gives the task, the recipient, the key information and the tone: the AI has nothing left to guess.

Question 1 of 2

Which request will give the best answer?
